Life in the fast lane

Reaching Accenture office in Sakinaka is a big pain in the neck,
Makes no difference whether I am in auto or the double Decker upper deck.

No matter how early I leave, I always miss the Accenture bus,
With loads of cribbing @ its punctuality, I take the public transport without making any fuss.

I make up my mind, that tomorrow I will be on time,
What makes me late again is my morning juice with a bit extra lime.

Metro work going on in east and the west,
This really puts ones patience to test.

I come across the famous S.V road,
Where no one can go above 20km/h no matter what is their transport mode.

Then I encounter the East west congested flyover,
Where one can easily take a 15 min nap with a pullover.

Another option is the Chakala route,
But the traffic and pollution spoils my newly worn suit.

I am wasting too much money on travelling I think,
This thought makes me thirsty and I have water to drink.

Alternative option is bus from Andheri east,
But the crowd over there is no less than a beast.

The queue for the bus goes on and on.
To add to the noise pollution, someone’s busy pressing his car horn.

I finally get my bus and hop inside,
And here begins my journey, my own office ride.

Once in the bus, I read the daily news paper,
Half n hour is gone and my bus has just moved an inch further.

This idea doesn’t seem to work for me ,
As I reach late to office and miss my group breakfast regularly .

I put my thinking caps on and think (AGAIN) for an alternative,
Kya kya karna padta hai to earn a living n to live.

One way auto ride to office and my 75 Rs. Are wasted,
100 Rs. Petrol in my Activa and for 1 week I am sorted .

Driving my Activa on that road is one big feat,
Bypassing the Metro construction, I remain rooted firmly on my seat.

Driving those potholes and weird diversions is not less than an achievement,
My back has started paining, will Reliance pay for my doctors reimbursement?

People say ghar in west and office in east, that’s really great,
Arre but my colleagues reach vashi n bhayender early and I reach late.

I think I can reach much early if I walk.
Waise bhi Abhishek Bacchan ne kahaa hai Walk When you talk .

Talk karne k liye I have few friends dear,
No matter what they are always near.

Agar they are busy so what …
I listen to FM , radio mirchi its always hot.

Metro will definitely facilitate the western central commuting,
But tab tak this travel is absolutely devastating.

Hope this work gets completed in 2010 December,
Else I will personally give Mr. Anil Ambani a gentle reminder.

  3. Hey Moto, Really good one. Something we all can relate to but dont want to change it as we ourselves are quite used to it. In fact we get shocked when we see the traffic in other cities. These are truly the reasons we love mumbai. Not the shivsena way though

  7. Mumbai roads going through such a bad phase because of only one reason. I haven't traveled on them :P
Anyways, you're too job/career/paise oriented!! Try spending time on the roads with your special someone (we know he exists!) and your poem will speak as if Mumbai roads are better than those in Nagpur (yeah, Nagpur roads are the best in the world)

By the way, where are the title credits for the first blog?
